Need a shower tap or thermostatic shower tap?

According to many, the most important tap in the house is a shower tap, after all, the shower tap prevents a dirty body. Throughout Europe, the most commonly used shower tap is a thermostatic shower tap. The shower thermostat has the preferable feature that the temperature remains constant despite a possible loss of water pressure, which isn't the case with a mixer tap. Loriano sells both shower mixer taps and thermostatic shower taps.

The shower tap is available in the highest amount of variations. We will list the most common shower taps for you.

Types of shower taps:

  • Shower tap (consisting of a shower tap)
  • Shower column (consisting of shower tap , rain shower and hand shower)
  • Built-in shower tap or built-in shower thermostat (the advantage of a built-in shower tap is that you can place the shower tap in a different position than the shower head)
  • Complete built-in shower set (existing from a built-in shower tap or built-in thermostatic tap with shower head and/or rain shower)

Why built-in or surface-mounted shower tap?

Installing the shower tap in the wall has become popular in a nutshell. The purchase price of a built-in shower tap is equivalent to the purchase price of a built-in shower tap. The difference is that the price for installation of a built-in shower tap is a bit more expensive. Where a wall plate (usually 15 cm center to center) must be placed with a built-in shower tap, this is a built-in part of the built-in shower tap and at least one extra pipe for an overhead shower and/or hand shower with a built-in tap. The built-in depth is often also deeper with a built-in part of a shower tap than with a wall plate for the exposed shower tap.

The big advantage of a built-in shower tap is that the shower tap can be placed in a place not under the shower head. When turning on the shower tap, the cold water can first go out of the water pipe, after which you can step into the hot shower without first getting wet from the cold water. Another advantage is that the built-in shower tap does not get very hot, which can burn you, which is possible with wall-mounted shower taps.

Color shower tap in the bathroom

Where chrome (shiny/glossy) shower taps were only available in the past, the choice is now huge. Why not create your own style by purchasing shower taps in a colour. The most durable shower taps are fully stainless steel taps, these shower taps have no finish on the tap itself that can wear out such as chrome, matte black, white or a PVD color. We will list the strongest colors for you:

  1. Full/solid stainless steel shower taps (or full stainless steel shower taps have no coating on the taps and are also lead and nickel free)
  2. Solid brass (full brass available in brushed or polished (shiny) version, this is gold-coloured)
  3. PVD shower taps (Very hard despite a very thin layer)
  4. Chrome shower taps (Goes in a chrome bath on a brass housing of the shower tap)
  5. Galvanised colors (Apply the coating with electrode after which it is heated)
  6. Powder coated colors
